United States Coast Guard Veteran of WWII. Trained as a Naval Aviator and received his wings at Pensacola, FL in 1943.
Lou pursued his childhood dream of flying and began his commercial career as a co-pilot flying DC -3s in 1946 and concluding that career as DC-10 Captain for United Airlines in 1980.
He enjoyed his long career as a Captain for United Airlines, “doing the only thing he ever wanted to do”.
Visitation Sunday, October 16, 2016 at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Rd., at Northwest Hwy., Mt. Prospect between 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Monday October 17, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.
